Hydroporus palustris?

hydroporus palustris 08-05-2008
Probably the palustris species, which is very common in Holland, the colours of the wingcases and head are typical of that species. The species has hairs on the wingcases, like this specimen. The size is 3.3 millimeters and that is also correct. However, for a certain determination Hydroporus species have to be dissected. The picture at left shows another specimen with about the same color pattern and yet looking somewhat different. Click on the picture to see some photo's of this specimen.
