Eurycercus lamellatus
Eurycercus on thread alga
This smaller specimen (0.8mm) of Eurycercus lamellatus could be a male, as the male of this species grows to 1.5 mm at max. Compare the projection size of the thread alga on this picture with that on the picture on the first page (click on the picture underneath to do so). The brown "bead chains" might be diatom algae. Could it be this water flea harvests these as nourishment?
