Brachypoda versicolor
On this page a few pictures of the underside of the male specimen of the previous page. The picture on the left is not completely sharp, but
shows reasonably well that the points of the coxae protrude further than the leading edge of
the dorsal shield. In the female this is not the case.
Below left: on a branch of water-milfoil, unfortunately with a somewhat disturbing air
bubble. Right: detail of the rear end, seen from below. The two green appendages are
strange, perhaps the male uses them to clamp the front of the female against the dorsal
shields? The acetabula are in front of it, along the rear edge of the body, not clearly
visible.

Finally, an overview photo of the underside. The dorsal shield looks more like an
overarching 'loose dome' in the male, when compared to the female.
