Hydrachna cruenta 23-06-2010
Hydrachna cruenta
Size: 3.5 millimeter

I found this large water mite in the Bornse beek, (a brook in the Netherlands). The species has one, larger plate above the eyes, instead of two separate ones like H. conjecta. The sucking snout and the convex shape are typical for all Hydrachna species.
