Mesovelia furcata
Pondweed bug
This Mesovelia specimen gives its limbs 'the full wax' in a polish
session. The sharp stabbing beak is turned forward to get a cleaning too. The left antenna
is depicted sharp here, the right one is pointed to the viewer and so is out of focus. The
Pondweed bug's head is of a somewhat squarish shape, caused by the snout, which is
broadened just before the eyes, instead of the pointed end like Velia and
Microvelia have. The picture below shows this.
